The List of Everything I've Written @ 12:00 am

*In desperate need of updating and reorganizing*

Under Construction! If you are here to find something, you could use the tags or drop me a note and I'll help you.

--min

Fics are listed by pairings. Some of them have multiple pairings and are listed under each (unless the pairing is only just mentioned or alluded to, in which case, it is listed under the primary pairing). Gen stories have a variety of characters. You can also search those by the tags. Where there is only one story for a pairing (so far) the link goes directly to the story.

There's m/m slash, femslash, some het here and there, and gen. Many stories are R or NC-17. If you are underage or are offended by smut, don't click on those! I have written a lot of Remus/Sirius, but not managed to organize those yet. And yes, I have written Pomona slash twice!

On to the fics: )

Some Recs! @ 08:50 am

Tags:

I so meant to do this before the reveal. Really I did. Better late than never, right?

When I have been stuck on the many things I am writing, I have been reading some at [info]bigbangblackout (yes, there are many fabulous stories there I've yet to read properly), reading some fantastic stuff at [info]hd_career_fair, and have come across a couple of great things at [info]ownficfest. Hmm, maybe there is a pattern here that could tell me why I'm not getting my own writing done.

Anyway, some recs:

Light as Iron, Singed as Pearl by [info]snegurochka_lee, NC-17.

I think this was the first thing I read at this fest and, OMG, what a way to begin. I love this fic. Draco is the owner of an elite BDSM club. Harry is the Ministry's post-war Reconciliation and Reconstruction Commissioner. This means that Draco gets to call Harry Commissioner throughout the fic, which is ridiculously hot. I would characterize the interactions between Harry and Draco as D/s not BDSM, and the exploration of that dynamic is absolutely brilliant—subtle, interesting, and totally sexy. The description of the emotions and needs of both characters is really compelling. The final, scorchingly hot, sex scene explores what D/s means in a non-stereotypical way that I loved so, so much. There is also a fabulous OC named Phoebe, on whom I have a giant crush. I clicked on this not meaning to read something right then, just looking, mmm-hmmm, but once I started, I had NO choice but to finish it.

Go read this, really do. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Small Blessings, by [info]oldenuf2nb, R.

After the war, Harry opens an orphanage with the help of a surprising friend. When he adopts an infant left on his doorstep, he has no idea what fate has in store for him.

This is such a lovely story. The summary tells you what Harry does. Draco is the designer of an elite line of men's lounge wear. This means there are lots of pretty descriptions of him… He had been the playboy of the wizarding world, estranged from his family. He returns to England and has no idea what fate has in store for him, either. This is sweet and schmoopy, but not without substance. The building attraction between Harry and Draco is completely delicious and both characters are believable as more mature, slightly mellowed versions of their teen selves. There are some great OCs in this as well, and a wonderful Pansy.

If you are in the mood for a suck-you-in, romantic story, this is for you.

When the Clocks Stopped, by [info]vaysh11, NC-17

When the clocks stop the past gets its chance to catch up.

This is a creative, fast-paced story. Harry is a member of a Curse Breaker team—lead by Sirius Black! Draco is a renowned Arithmancy expert who has made some important discoveries about time. I can't do the complexity and creativity of the plot justice. It is exciting and intricate. The physicists and science-and-time-space-continuum-minded people on the flist will have to suspend your disbelief. The author acknowledges that the science is made up. The UST between Harry and Draco is fabulous, as is the get together. An interesting, different kind of a read.

*warning for sadness at the end*

There are others on my list to rec and to read, so more later. The masterlist for this fest is incredible and I don't think you could go wrong by just looking through it and clicking on anything that catches your eye.

Don't forget to leave the authors/artists some love.

p.s. I will be in need of a beta for a 5k fic later this weekend. It is with someone for content now, but I would love someone for a second look and SPAG. Anyone available and willing? I would be so thankful. :)

FIC: Remember Me In The Telling, Lily Centric, PG @ 09:40 pm

Because I am terrible, apparently, at keeping my journal organized, I never reposted my story from [info]springtime_gen this past spring. It is Lily-centric (Lily Sr., that is) with Teddy Lupin as her biographer. I'll admit, I am rather fond of this one.

Originally posted HERE at [info]springtime_gen

Title: Remember Me In The Telling
Character(s): Lily Evans, Teddy Lupin, Severus Snape, Remus Lupin, Sirius Black, James Potter, Regulus Black
Rating: PG
Word-count/Media: 5,800 words
Warnings (if any): AU, character death—canon deaths, but alternate timeline.
Summary: Severus pleaded with her to stay, apologizing for his ugly words. Lily tried to go, but he asked one more time and something in his voice made her stop. Teddy Lupin has a book to write, and Lily Evans has a story to tell.
Author's/Artist’s Notes (if any): This was for a request for an AU where changing a small event creates a major difference. Four lines, marked with a (*) are taken directly from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, U.S. Edition, p. 676.
Beta: [info]elizassecret, Thank you so much for your help and general awesomeness.

'You're late,' Lily says. Christ, he looks like his father as he gets older. )

here's a quick rec @ 09:13 pm

Head on over to [info] femgenficathon and check out Majesty by [info] kellychambliss

The Queen of England has occasion to learn of the existence of the magical world, and she wants to see it for herself. The story takes her, with the current Prime Minister, to Hogwarts to meet up with Minerva and Kingsley. What you get is a delightful story with a rich backstory for Minerva, wonderful interactions between Minerva and Kingsley, and really lovely conversation between Minerva and Elizabeth. It is a very quick read for its 6K.

Go on and check it out and leave the author some love!

On another note, it is raining, I have peppermint tea, and I am about to start writing my [info] hd_holidays fic. Or I might just peruse the flist. I hope you are all having similarly relaxing evenings. :)

Big Bang Blackout: This Time It's Sirius/Bellhop @ 05:05 pm

The [info]bigbangblackout community and archive are still live and there are still many fantastic stories there to be read, including by me.

The masterlist for the archive is HERE and my story (R/S, Sirius/Charlie, Sirius/OMCs, with a fair amount of non-romance plot, AU, NC-17, gorgeous art by [info]spacefragments) is HERE.

Artists and authors can now post to other sites and archives--it will probably be a while before I get around to reformatting and posting mine here. However, I thought I'd share this little bit of filth. Way back when, this was conceived as a flashback in the story. But then there weren't actually any flashbacks in the story. I had mentioned Sirius/Bellhop porn to the other [info]sirius_writers enough times that I thought I had better deliver, and originally posted this there.

Sirius/bellhop porn (NC-17, absolute PWP, in case that wasn't clear).

Once there was a bellhop who was rather bored and disgruntled... )

a rec and some navel gazing. just sayin' hello, really @ 10:14 pm

Hiya everyone. I've been scarce around these parts lately because of the busy, busy, busy. Also have been trying to get a little more sleep--thought I might improve my brain function.

[info]magnetic_pole wrote me an absolutely lovely ficlet. It is Remus and Sirius for the prompt, "friendship." It is subtle and sweet and gentle and totally captures the dynamic of them communicating perfectly with each other through basically just knowing and caring about each other so well. Go and read it and leave her a comment. It is called Do You Remember Alan Mackenzie

I am slowly, very slowly, reading the [info]bigbangblackout stories. There are so many wonderful ones there. Don't forget to go and check out the archive. There is such a variety and people worked so very hard. I have had a sum total of about an hour to read over the last week, so have failed at making much headway through the list!

Oooh, did I mention that I was invited to join Daily Deviant? How cool (and sort of terrifying) is that?? That means I have added two to the fic deadlines about which I am currently fretting. It also means that it has become a good thing that two of my upcoming assignments will not be porn. I'll need to save up.

And finally, [info]elizassecret:

rambling and navel gazing.... @ 10:30 pm

Procrastinating post helps me procrastinate:

1) I have totally failed at wishing people Happy Birthday lately.
So to: [info]woldy, [info]torino1_154, [info]mysid, [info]thescarletwoman, [info]werewolf_lib, [info]ani_bester, [info]ligia_sis, I wish you a most happy belated birthday. And upcoming, [info]la_onza and [info]loony4lupin.

2) I have totally failed at getting my [info]bigbangblackout fic where I wanted it to be by now. Grrrr. I am stuck (as we speak) on the final scene. The climax, the pinnacle, what it's all been about, and so far, it is not. Also they are refusing to have hot sex. They keep eating dinner. I am so disgusted with them that I even checked my work email as a way to procrastinate (and then did this post. :-/)

3) I have totally failed at keeping up with [info]dogdaysofsummer in any way. I really did want to. I joined fandom just after the monthly r/s comms sort of faded and much of what I read then to convince me to start writing was on those comms.

4) Early, EARLY Monday morning, I am going away on an 8 day trip—six of which will be camping—and I have totally failed to be ready to the extent I would like by this evening (note the potential week without internet or an electrical outlet. I am not complaining about camping, but, you know, see #2).

Some things which have not been made of fail:

1) I had a hundred dollar gift from Mum and about an hour without the kid to buy sneakers, some clothes for the camping trip, and something for work, and I succeeded. The sneakers have purple trim and there may be sparkles involved. And yes, I am too old for that.

2) I have managed to repost all but one of my floating-about fest fics and made some progress on updating the masterlist.

3) I finished and posted my first Harry/Draco fic. It had been plaguing me because I knew it had problems, but not how to fix it. [info]red_squared very kindly told me, this here sort of sucks, and here is why. Only she said it really nicely and helped me to rework both the feeling of parts of it and characterizations. And then [info]duck_or_rabbit gave that version a look see for any other problems. This all makes it sound like a more lofty process than the PWP that it really is, but I suppose what I am saying is that I love it when a beta will do that. I have been so lucky with betas and ♥ all of you who have been willing to teach me.

4) Tomorrow is my birthday and my lovely [info]elizassecret is going to make me a cake.

5) OMG, [info]midnitemaraud_r just sent me some virtual handcuffs for inspiration! Right, so these might help. Back to banging Sirius. :D Thank you, sweetie!! ♥

FIC: Better Late, H/D, NC-17 @ 09:48 pm

Title: Better Late
Pairing/Characters: Harry/Draco
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: ~7000
Warnings: Well, what do you think happened after [info]elizassecret made a snarky comment about me writing rimming? There're other sexual activities as well, but that's the one I thought might not be a given by the rating.
Disclaimer: Harry and Draco, and pretty much everything else except the sex belong to JKR.
Summary: Harry is miserable at his birthday party. So miserable, in fact, that he briefly considers leaving to take care of drunk teenagers, as the only better option available. That is, until something infinitely preferable presents its, or rather his, self.
Notes: A most happy belated birthday to my very dear [info]elizassecret. I hope you enjoy your prezzie. Sorry it's so late. ♥

Thank you so very much to [info]red_squared for the creative, thorough and speedy beta. And to [info]duck_or_rabbit for lovely feedback and encouragement. ♥ to you two, as well.

FIC: There's Something About A Malfoy, Part 3 @ 07:56 pm

FIC: There's Something About A Malfoy, Part 2 @ 07:54 pm

FIC: There's Something About A Malfoy, Part 1 @ 07:53 pm

Finally reposting:

Title: There's Something About A Malfoy
Rating: NC-17
Pairing(s): Harry/Scorpius, Charlie/Draco
Disclaimer: All Harry Potter characters herein are the property of J.K. Rowling and Bloomsbury/Scholastic. No copyright infringement is intended.
Summary: Charlie has no room in his drawers for anyone else's skivvies, Harry wallows in moral agony for a bit, Draco wants to rebuild his life, and Scorpius just wants Harry to stop being an idiot. And there's something wicked in the forest. If they're going to stop it, they're all going to have to work together.
Warnings: Rimming and other sexual activities.
Word Count: 27,500 give or take.

Author's Notes: Written for [info]trubblecleff at the 2009 [info]hp_springsmut fest. [info]trubblecleff's request was fabulous and included: banter, rimming, and Draco as a redeemed friend; and prompts of Aurors and teacher/student. Two of Charlie's bits of relationship advice were shamelessly stolen from Dan Savage at Savage Love.

Thanks to [info]midnitemaraud_r for the amazing job running the fest. Thank you so much to [info]elizassecret for listening to me agonize over parts of this for ages and the thorough beta; and to [info]la_dissonance for the speedy-quick final beta and helping me remove some of the bits that were soppy even for me.

This was such, such fun. I am still blown-away and so grateful for all the wonderful comments and recs this received when it was first posted. Thank you to everyone for that. :D

remus/sirius love @ 01:55 pm

Being redundant, I know that everyone here has seen [info]imochan's R/S Post of Love--how much fun is that? All the recs and drabbles and enthusiasm. YAY. Check it out if you haven't. I did two ficlets for prompts there—I know, I know, the deadline for [info]bigbangblackout is running at me, flailing and shrieking. But honestly, these helped me. I was getting stuck again and doing these quick little pieces got me going.

look what i got!!!! @ 11:51 pm

I win! Because only [info]midnitmaraud_r knew more than me in [info]gryffindor_j's canon quiz some weeks ago, I get this wonderful prize!

Mr. Moony Presents: Lessons Learned the Hard Way, Remus/Sirius, NC-17.

It is fun and sweet and hot. Remus and Sirius have recently become an item and they have a little trouble figuring out how to deal with that. They figure it all out, tho. ;) Did I mention hot?

Please go read it and think about how lucky I am that this is for me! And then leave [info]gryffindor_j some feedback, letting her know how lucky I am. :D

Thank you, J, I LOVE my prize! ♥

(I tied with [info]red_day_dawning, btw, and you should go and read that prize as well.)

A most happy (belated) birthday to [info]ramie_k. Hope it was wonderful, and sorry I missed it.

Wishing [info]gryffindor_j a birthday that is as fabulous as she is. I hope you are pampered and allowed to eat without a child on your lap. Happy birthday!

down and out in beverly hills (except that would be closer to home) @ 06:03 am

So, I have been somewhat unexpectedly without regular internet access this past week. I should have reliable access again by the end of the weekend. Anything exciting happen in your real or virtual lives flist?

I am staying with some extended family while I work. They are of a socio-economic class with whom I have little daily interactions. They are being perfectly lovely and accomdating. They do, however, say things like, "I bought a new car to help the economy" and "Come and see the house I bought to keep my mind busy." The following is a conversation that I wasn't quite a part of but happened while I was sitting at the table as a family member, we shall call Amy, and a friend of hers we shall call Mary, discussed some unpleasant changes in the lake near their homes:

Amy: The geese have gotten so bad, you can hardly walk by the lake anymore without stepping in poop.

Mary: Yes, they should do something. They don't poop like other birds. There's chunks like dogs.

Amy: It's terrible.

Mary: They should shoot them and feed them to the homeless.

Me: Blinks.

I'll leave you with that and hopefully see you next week!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY [info]elizassecret @ 05:43 am

HAPPPY BIRTHDAY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

I am so sorry that I have left you for your birthday. I hope you believe that I would have avoided this if I could. I humbly ask your forgiveness and hope that you take this public apology as proof of my sincerity. To make it up to you, I will:

1) Prepare you dinner that includes, at the very least, Buffalo wings and peach melba.

2) Bring you a gift from the place that has taken me away from you.

3) Get my arse in gear and finish your birthday story (and make it properly smutty, or rather, improperly smutty).

I hope your day is wonderful and you are treated to much pamepering by those who have not left you.

So, I am now mindabbles on dreamwidth. Thanks to the fabulous [info]red_squared for the invite. I am adding people as I see them there. I plan to post everything here and at LJ and there if I can figure it all out.

The second milestone claim at [info]bigbangblackout has closed! Lots of people made it and [info]remeciel did a gorgeous banner for the authors who did. YAY!

My kid went to sleep at ten to seven tonight. Paranoid mama is paranoid--do you think he has swine flu? Tell me he just hasn't had enough sleep lately (he hasn't) and hasn't been feeling well because of having bad allergies (he has). Right? Right. His birthday is tomorrow, it would really suck if he came down with swine flu on his birthday.

LGBT Fest--my fic and recs @ 03:21 pm

Tags: ,

LGBT Fest has been posting for a little while now and, frankly, each one of the Harry Potter fics so far has been worth reading. You could find them all at the Harry Potter Tag.

I particularly enjoyed:

Correspondence by [info]loneraven. Growing up is hard to do.This is a lovely, gentle piece told entirely in letters between an OC (Robin) and Hermione. Robin is a transgender kid who Hermione approached about championing transgender rights. Robin gently puts Hermione in her place and a lovely friendship develops.

Communion by [info]celandineb. Draco decides to tell Harry the truth about the past before anything can happen between them. A sweet and tender look at some of the challenges of growing up different, well-meaning people's blunders, and taking at chance. This is pretty introspective and quite lovely.

And then there's mine, which I shall repost here at a later date, Live Every Day. The pairings are: Alice/Dorcas, Alice/Frank, Alice/Lily, Remus/Sirius, Lily/James; 4,900 words; Rated R.

I had intended to write a light-hearted piece about Rose Weasley and out came this. Not my usual fluffy romance. :/ This is an Alice-centric piece set from when she is about fourteen and her mother drops her off for school, until early 1981. Alice is the child of a Seer who worked as a carnival fortune-teller, and she spent her childhood traveling with the carnival. Life at Hogwarts and in stable wizarding society is an adjustment in many ways, and then there is the war. There is angst, infidelity, friendship, exploring identity--political allegiances, bisexuality, love, family--and making peace with all of the above.
