I was given a banner in hp_wankfest. Who would have thought? How nice are they? Mods choice for best use of prompt. It was Spello-tape and I did have to think about it quite a bit, usually while traveling for work. I wonder if some folks on planes thought I had taken valium to ease the nerves. Finally, guess who is a new mod of stagnight? That's right, I am going to stretch my LJ/IJ-ing skills to the breaking point and hopefully have some fun. Okay, so one more thing. Just now my kid cried for twenty minutes because I told him we could not start on a third chapter of The Magician's Nephew. I mean screamed and wished me dead and all manner of things. I think he might be getting sick, but doesn't he know I could have used that time to write this very useful post? Or repost the four fics from fests that I still haven't posted here? Or update my terribly behind masterlist? Or finish editing the next chapter of 'Of Silver Light and Shadows?' Or try and think of a fourth idea that will come to nothing for femgenficathon?

CALIFORNIA SUPREME COURT UPHOLDS THE RIGHT TO SAME-SEX MARRIAGE!!!! 

Gays and lesbians have a constitutional right to marry in California, the state Supreme Court said today in a historic ruling that could be repudiated by the voters in November.

In a 4-3 decision, the justices said the state's ban on same-sex marriage violates the "fundamental constitutional right to form a family relationship." The ruling is likely to flood county courthouses with applications from couples newly eligible to marry when it takes effect in 30 days.


I am going to choose to ignore the rest of the article (by the CA Commission on the Status of Women), that talks about how it will come up against the idiot vote in November, well, because I want to.

There are 51 Harry Potter entries. Can you spot mine? Like others, I think that if you've read even one thing I've written, it's blatantly obvious. Also like others, if you can guess which one it is, I'll write a little something for you.

My remixer chose a ficlet I wrote about Harry's feelings about being a godfather. I would never have imagined that someone would pick this one. I suppose that's half the fun of remix - other people see things in your stories that you never saw yourself. The remixer kept my favorite lines and added a lot of depth, added sections from the first war and a Sirius POV. Adding Sirius always makes a story better. So, go read and leave a comment!

With an interesting structure, some very vivid imagery, and really nicely done emotions (and a sweet ending), this story is unique and interesting. Here’s a sample:

James didn't want to think about why it felt as if the wind had been knocked out of him. He'd lost too much of himself in too short a time, he'd done things he'd never imagined himself doing, or even wanting to do. Something inside his heart had been shattered by the events of the last month, and the resulting shards sliced their way cruelly inward as he listened to Remus dismiss everything that had happened as nothing more than momentary weakness.

Summary: The company of Gryffindors was bad enough. The company of naked Gryffindors – a Potter and a werewolf spawn, no less, and totally unasked for, thank you very much – was outrageous. The company of naked, muscled Gryffindors claiming a sodding Muggle prophecy device had foretold his seduction was just too much to take. All things considered, Scorpius Malfoy really was having a very, very bad week.

This is a story that I thought I’d just click to see, hmm, could be interesting. Well, I couldn’t stop reading. It features a delightful James Jr, just loved him. He is brave, and sweet, and sexy as hell. Scorpius was, as I think I said in my original comment, “cunning and bumbling at the same time,” and so in need of James’ – good thing he knows it. Enter Teddy, protective, and loving, and also, sexy as hell. This is just so much fun.

The author’s summary, “Snippets of Teddy and Harry together,” is technically true, but doesn’t quite do it justice. This is the story of Teddy and Harry’s relationship from when Teddy was an infant until he was a young man. There are sweet moments, sad moments, and funny moments. Harry is a lovely godfather to Teddy, and in the end, Teddy helps Harry to let go of some long-held guilt.




I still have much reading and viewing of art to do at both of these, and from what I've seen, there's a lot of great stuff - so check out both fests. Okay, now back to writing remix.

My submission for phoenix_flies was posted today. It's my first attempt at Kingsley, Charlie, and Kingsley/Charlie. I enjoyed them quite a lot!

It's, you know, romance with a little bit of smut, and a stab at something a bit more substantial. Perhaps someday, I'll write something else.

Hello all. Is anyone available this week to take a look at one of the insane number of things I am writing right now? I'm afraid I may have taxed the usual suspects.

It is Kingsley/Charlie, rated R, about 4,500 words (dear lord, it wasn't supposed to be that long).  I plan to finish a draft tonight and it is due for posting on the 15th, so slightly quick turn-around.
