Because I am terrible, apparently, at keeping my journal organized, I never reposted my story from springtime_gen this past spring. It is Lily-centric (Lily Sr., that is) with Teddy Lupin as her biographer. I'll admit, I am rather fond of this one.

Title: Remember Me In The Telling

Warnings (if any): AU, character death—canon deaths, but alternate timeline.
Summary: Severus pleaded with her to stay, apologizing for his ugly words. Lily tried to go, but he asked one more time and something in his voice made her stop. Teddy Lupin has a book to write, and Lily Evans has a story to tell.
Author's/Artist’s Notes (if any): This was for a request for an AU where changing a small event creates a major difference. Four lines, marked with a (*) are taken directly from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, U.S. Edition, p. 676.

As anyone around here has probably seen, rs_small_gifts is a wrap. It was great fun to help moderate it with the lovely and talented magnetic_pole and sambethe. The master list is up and you really should check it out if you haven't—there is much fun to be had.

I ended up writing three things. The first two listed below were supposed to be drabbles—to thank the fabulous pinch hitters. However I am apparently unable to be concise, so they are 2,500 and 1,100 words. The third is my original assignment (also about 2K over the length guideline, sheesh) and is my very first raising Harry AU.

On another note, I haven't managed anything like a year-end post. I feel as if I wrote a lot this year. I know I wrote more different characters and pairings, more femslash, and both more smut and more gen than in the past. Oh, and I wrote longer fics. Perhaps I can manage to post the remaining three fics I have yet to post here, finish Of Silver Light and Shadows, and update the master list. Perhaps.

Happy New Year everyone. I hope 2009 has started well for you all. It has for me. This week the kid and I: rode his scooter a lot (and I hit uneven pavement and flew over the handle bars); went hiking/rock scrambling and did not break anything; went ice skating for the first time and neither of us cracked our heads on the ice. Not bad.

In celebration of the fact that my hp_yule_balls fic is finally with betas and that I have an actual idea for my rs_small_gifts fic, I thought I would work on posting some of the fics I've never posted here. Here is my entry for round two of rs_games. And as Team MWPP's fearless leader pointed out, polls are not always correct. :P

Summary: When current events in the larger world move close to home, Sirius, along with Remus, James, Lily, and Peter must get to the bottom of it. Sirius' sleuthing is interrupted occasionally in order to have sex with Remus.
Prompt: Aquarius (Jan. 21 — Feb. 19): Clarity allows you to evaluate every development with real discrimination and to know instantly what needs to be done rather than facing a nebulous array of options. Certain priorities are about to get sorted.
Genre(s): Romance/fluff, drama.
Notes: Thanks to my fabulous betas, midnitemaraud_r and elizassecret, who worked very hard and very quickly, well into the night. MWPP and Lily belong to JKR. elizassecret suggested that this story' is Sirius as Nancy Drew, hence the title.
